1996[]

  • June 11 (06-11) Michael Yarmush and Michael Caloz are hired to do the voices of Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber.
  • June 25 (06-25) Production for season 1 of VeggieTales Kids starts.

1997[]

  • December 1 (12-01) Production for season 1 wraps up.

1998[]

  • January 12 (01-12) Production for season 2 begins.
  • October 5, (10-05) Phil Vischer contacts Children's Television Workshop (CTW) (the creators of Sesame Street) and CINAR (Canada) to produce VeggieTales Kids with Big Idea Productions.
  • October 12, (10-12) The CTW and CINAR agree to make VeggieTales Kids, which would be coming to PBS next month.
  • October 26, (10-26) Production for season 2 wraps up.
  • November 16 (11-16), VeggieTales Kids premiered on PBS Kids (known as PTV park from 1994 to 1999)
  • November 30, (11-30) Production for season 3 begins.
  • December 22 (12-22), A letter is sent to CTW and CINAR, by Sony Wonder, with the letter saying that the company wants to release VeggieTales Kids on VHS and DVD.
  • December 29 (12-29) CTW and CINAR decide that just because Sony Wonder worked together with CTW releasing Sesame Street, and CINAR releasing Arthur, and Caillou from 1997-2000, doesn't mean Sony Wonder should keep releasing stuff with CTW and CINAR repeatedly. They decide it's not a good idea for Sony Wonder to release VeggieTales Kids on VHS and DVD. (although Sony Wonder did release actual VeggieTales VHS/DVDs from 2004-2006)

1999[]

  • January 4 (01-04) CTW and CINAR offer the rights to Anchor Bay Entertainment to release VeggieTales Kids, and Anchor Bay declines it.
  • January 11 (01-11) CTW and CINAR now offer the rights to Warner Bros to release VeggieTales Kids, and Warner Bros also declines it. (although Warner Bros. also released actual VeggieTales VHS/DVDs from 2002-2004 and then again in 2007)
  • January 18 (01-18) CTW and CINAR now offer the rights to Columbia Tristar Home Video, and Columbia Tristar also declines it.
  • January 25 (01-25) With only 1 more company to choose from, CTW and CINAR hire Artisan to release VeggieTales Kids to VHS on DVD, and Artisan agrees.
  • February 5 (02-05) VeggieTales Kids Volume 1: Welcome Aboard comes to VHS
  • May 28 (05-28) season 1 ends.
  • August 3 (08-03) VeggieTales Kids: The Complete First Season comes to DVD in 7 discs.
  • August 17 (08-17) VeggieTales Kids Volume 2: More Fun for Everyone comes to VHS.
  • August 31 (08-31) Production for season 3 wraps up.
  • September 7 (09-07) VeggieTales Kids Volume 3: Lettuce Love One Another comes to VHS.
  • September 28 (09-28) VeggieTales Kids Volumes 1 and 2 are put together onto 1 DVD disc.
  • October 19 (10-19) A LeapPad Interactive Book and Cartridge adaptation of the VeggieTales Kids season 1 episode Dognapper gets released.
  • October 26 (10-26) VeggieTales Kids Volume 4: Learn and Play With Us comes to VHS.
  • November 1 (11-01) Season 2 airs on PBS.
