The VeggieTones was a 2018-2021 American computer-generated comedy action adventure musical spin-off series based on the original VeggieTales episode “Beauty and the Beet”. It was first revealed at Sundance Film Festival 2018 before having a direct Netflix and Hulu release on October 4th, 2018. It came to a cliffhanger conclusion on December 21st, 2021 at 8:30 PM. It stars the talented voices of Phil Vischer, Mike Nawrocki, Lisa Vischer, David Mann, Stephanie Southerland, Kira Buckland, Kellie Pickler, Rob Paulsen, Matt Vogel, Megan Murphy, Marin Miller, J. Chris Wall, Phil Lord and Jace Norman. The series ran for for three seasons before being cancelled due to Big Idea’s shutdown in 2021. It was produced by DreamWorks Animation Television from 2017-2019, Big Idea Entertainment Productions From 2015-2021, and Trilogy Animation Group from October 11th, 2019-July 3rd, 2021. A revival is set to be in-development with Universal.

Production on The VeggieTones started on May 14th, 2016, shortly after the production of VeggieTales in the House ended. Phil Vischer revealed on Twitter that same day that he is re-recording older lines for Bob the Tomato in a new VeggieTales television series centering around The VeggieTones. During all of June of 2016, it was announced that Mike Nawrocki, Lisa Vischer, Jim Poole, as well as more of the older VeggieTales cast will be reprising their roles.
