- Although the film was released in 1997, it was produced at the same time as Dave and the Giant Pickle.
- Although most VHS releases in the Masterpiece Collection line from 1994-1999 use the standard version with it's normal music (which is a more powerful, orchestral version of the Walt Disney Classics theme tune, this VHS (as well as the Laserdisc counterpart) uses the longer version, not only with the logo shining twice, but also with the 1992 distorted Walt Disney Classics music playing over it.
- There are 2 versions of how this tape can open up. The first version opens with the 1991 Green FBI Warning screens, and after the preview for Melody Time, there is a Disney Interactive promo for Nightmare Ned on CD Rom (which also appeared on early printings of the 1997 VHS of The Jungle Book), while the second version opens with the 1997 Green FBI Warning screens, and after the previe for Melody Time, there are 3 extra previews, for The Black Cauldron, followed by Lady and the Tramp, followed by The Rescuers.
- This would be the last VeggieTales movie to be made until Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie.
