The Case of the Missing Donut is the second half of the first episode of season 1 of VeggieTales Kids.

Plot[]
It's Larry's birthday and Larry's excited to eat donuts. Larry can't resist them. He is about to eat 2 donuts, when suddenly, a bird takes one of his donuts and eats them. Larry starts to cry and tells his parents that he had 2 donuts a minute ago, and now one of them is gone. Larry's friends come over (including Bob the Tomato), and wish Larry a happy birthday. Larry dramatically tells his friends exactly what happened to his second donut, then he starts crying again, and Bob the Tomato and Jimmy Gourd join in crying because they feel bad for Larry. Bob then tells Larry that before Larry opens his presents, everyone will search for the bird that took Larry's donut. A 15 minutes later time card follows, and they find the bird who took Larry's donut and ate it. Larry asks the bird why he took the donut, and the bird answers that he took the donut because he didn't have anything to eat all day, and that he wanted to eat something rather than nothing. Archibald tells Larry that mistakes happen sometimes. A 30 minutes later time card follows, and Larry's dad gives him a second donut later for the party. The party turns out to be very fun. First, they play a game of go fish, then they have a tea party, then they read books together, and then they play more games, until eventually, it was time for Larry to blow out the candles. Larry blows out all 8 candles. and his friends sing happy birthday to him. Then, Larry opens his presents, and when they are complete, he eats both of the donuts. Then the episode fades out.

- This is the first episode that Larry the Cucumber and Jimmy Gourd appear in VeggieTales Kids. Throughout this season, Larry is voiced by Michael Caloz, and Jimmy Gourd is voiced by Daniel Brochu.
- The plot to this episode is somewhat similar to the Arthur episode, D.W.'s Snow Mystery, where D.W. can't seem to get happy after losing her snowball.
- The sound of Larry crying was recycled audio of D.W. Read crying from the Arthur episode D.W.'s Deer Friend.
- The sound of Bob crying was recycled audio of Arthur Read crying from the Arthur episode I'd Rather Read It Myself
- The sound of Jimmy Gourd crying was recycled audio of Buster Baxter crying from the Arthur episode Arthur's Lucky Pencil.
