On November 18, 2003, Leapfrog enterprises originally released a LeapPad Interactive Book and Cartridge adaptation of the 2003 VeggieTales episode, The Ballad of Little Joe, but then was reprinted on March 16, 2004.
Trivia[]
- When the LeapPad player is turned on, Mike Nawrocki (in his Larry the Cucumber voice) reads the title of the book, which was recycled audio from the opening countertop, and Phil Vischer (in his Bob the Tomato voice) not only narrates the story (which was recycled audio from the episode) but he also does the props, gives directions, and leads the games. The musical score is completely different, reusing music from the second page of the M-Z side of I Know My ABCs, which plays on page 1 of this book,as well as pages 2 and 3
- Originally, the music (when Little Joe gets arrested on pages 10 and 11) used recycled underscore from activity side page 1 of the My First LeapPad book, Jay Jay the Jet Plane: High Flying Adventures, but then when it was reprinted on March 16, 2004, the music was changed to the underscore from pages 16 and 17 of the LeapPad book, SpongeBob SquarePants: Salty Sea Stories, to make it sound more scary.
- Jackie Ritz was ill at the time of the release, so Grey Griffin voices Madame Blueberry in this book. Oddly enough, she lacks the French Accent, and uses the same voicetype as Lola Loud from the Loud House/Emily Elizabeth from Clifford the Big Red Dog, despite the fact that Madame Blueberry is an adult, and not a kid.
- An Easter Carol was originally intended to come out after this book, but it was delayed to April 5, 2005 due to this book being reprinted in 2004.
- When you touch the pen in each page of the book, Bob the Tomato would say one of the 3 things... "Way to Go." (recycled from Rack Shack & Benny) "Good." (recycled from Dave and the Giant Pickle closing countertop) "That's right." (recycled from the Grapes of Wrath section of God Wants Me to Forgive Them?!?)
