S-Cape: A VeggieTales Movie is a 2013 American computer-generated christian action superhero film based on 2012's The League of Incredible Vegetables, Superman from the DC Comics, and Mr.Lunt's character himself from the original direct-to-video VeggieTales series. The film was directed by Phil Vischer and produced by Big Idea Entetainment, Universal Pictures, and Allspark Pictures. This was the fourth theatrical released VeggieTales film following 2002's Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie, 2008's The Pirates Who Don't DO Anything: A VeggieTales Movie, 2010's Jimmy Gourd's Big Movie! and 2012's League. The themes for this film are showing empathy to even the people you despise, loving your neighbor, and being the best you could be. The film concerns Mr.Lunt, a gourd who stumbles upon an iced-over factory during his trip to Antarctica, where he found a source of super-energy called Super-Crystals, allowing the user (when touched) to turn into the legendary hero S-Cape. Once touched, Mr.Lunt turned into S-Cape and stopped a robbery at the Veggie-Town bank. Now, balancing out two different lives, Mr.Lunt swears to protect his superhero alter-ego from the fate of the evil Awful Alvin and the world. The story is based loosely on the first three Superman films, while half of the plot is centered around Awful Alvin trying to steal S-Cape's powers by many different super-weapons, which all either fail on him, or completely backfire.

S-Cape: A VeggieTales Movie premiered to select U.S theaters on June 16th, 2013, about a month and a half before its initial premiere. The film made its worldwide debut on July 28th, 2013, while also receiving a digital edition 5 months later on December 28th, 2013, with loads of extra bonus material such as cut content that never made it into the final cut of the film, an extended version found when inputting a special code in the "Passcode" option in the main menu which also includes the deleted scenes, characters commentaries, special trailers, and more. The film generally positive reviews for its wildly charming humor, its action-packed sequences that'll leave you clinging to the edge of your seats, and an overall generally good moral for both kids and adults to enjoy. The film also received low negative reviews, mostly about the style of the film not fitting a regular VeggieTales movie, and, the character's voices being either too low pitched or extremely high.

The film came out with a special party-edition Blu-Ray and DVD remastered versions on May 4th, 2015, as a worldwide home video release in full-screen, anamorphic-widescreen, and standard-widescreen. The film also received a "5th Anniversary Collectors Edition" version of the film on August 13th, 2017. The film got a re-printed remastered cut by Lions Gate and Ion Television on September 28th, 2017, that included some references to god and the bible being cut due to constraints by the network on June 7th, 2018, as a worldwide television premiere.

A sequel to this film, most notably being Vouge (2015), being released a year after this one on June 16th, 2014, but was delayed and pushed forward 18 months due to time constants. The sequel film had preview screenings being held at the Sundance Film Festival 2014, and Images Cinema the following week. The film was finally released on December 16th, 2015, with poorly negative to mixed reviews.

A television series with the working title of The S-Cape Show! is currently still in its development stages, but main show director and creator Tim Hodges states that it'll probably be released sometime either 2020 or 2025. The film also expanded its franchise, such as having mall-touring live tours, several books published by Big Idea themselves, and a sequel tie-in comic.

Plot:[]

The film begins with Mr.Lunt going on a trip to Antarctica to study about the Penguins and other mammals that inhabit the area. A chilling voice calls out to him from beyond the wind, telling him to go 30 miles north, ski down the mountain at a high speed, and crash-land into a cave full of radioactive crystals. Mr.Lunt decides against this idea for a bit, until he goes along with it. After a while, he found the crystals and a flashback popped up inside of his mind that a user just like him touched the crystal, became S-Cape, fought the biggest battle he ever fought, and died a hero. After the flashback had ended, he touched a crystal and transformed into the legendary hero, S-Cape. It then cuts to Mr.Lunt taking off the costume and continues to study his animal friends in peace. A giant ship comes flying from above and crashes onto Antarctica's weakest point, causing some of the ice to break. S-Cape took notice of what was happening and quickly saved each of the penguins from their doom until every animal friend was safe and sound.

He then spots the ship zooming away from his current location, and so, he decides to follow the ship, not knowing what else could possibly occur. After a while of chasing after the ship, he noticed a strange weapons device strapped onto the main ship dock itself, and he flew to mega speed, hoping to investigate this mystery once and for all. Once landing on the deck, he quickly burnt a hole into the ship walls, leading into the air ducts and finally up under the main bridge. S-Cape overhears their plan, and quickly travels along with them, to hopefully put an end to their vile ways.
