Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed Prototype VHS cover

Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed was originally going to be released on VHS in November 24, 1998 (that same day The End of Silliness? was released), but for an unknown reason, they decided to switch the release dates with this episode and The End of Silliness?, making this one pushed back to July 27, 1999. This prototype worktape is basically identical to the final print but has some minor differences, including the presence of the VeggieTales Theme Song and the Silly Song. It is the last episode to use the original Everland Entertainment design of the VeggieTales VHS cover style, but rather the first episode to officially use the 1998 logo and theme song.

  • The rare Word, Inc./Everland Entertainment bumper logo from Bible Action Songs appears after the WARNING screen.
  • The 1998 VeggieTales intro is present.
  • Some of the dialogue in the opening scene is heard at different points.
  • The first time "I Can Be Your Friend" is heard, it's an instrumental.
  • The full LarryBoy Theme Song plays.
  • The Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps appears, and would later be incorporated into The End of Silliness?.
  • The Mother Weed's voice is lower pitched, similar to the Fib's.
  • The LarryBoy Soundtrack promo plays at the end of the tape, and doesn't feature information about the LarryBoy website.
